The Board of Directors, Advisory Board and the Friends of Gemma's Angels made a donation to Gemma's Angels in memory of Alease Wright, mother of Gemma's Angels Board Member Nelva Wright. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Nelva and her family.

Alease Wright, the first lady of 46th Street Baptist Church, died on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017. She was 83.
She was born on April 20, 1934, to the late Lena Bell Allen and Woodrow Chambers in Reds Springs, N.C.
She was educated in the North Carolina public school system. She was baptized at Central Grove Baptist Church in North Carolina.
She married the Rev. Theophilus Wright on Dec. 22, 1956 and three children were born to their union. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her sons, Alan Wright (Brenda) and Martin T. Wright (Cynthia); daughter, Nelva Wright; grandchildren, Shante Gardner-Boyd (Andre), Tiffany Wright, Maurice Wright, Naaman Wright, Wesley Wright and Sabrina Slaughter; great-grandchildren, Navianna Boyd, William Boyd, William Walters, Andre Boyd Jr. Jayden Walters, Mehki Wright and Isabella Wright; sister, Mary MacLarin (Wilbur) of Winston Salem, N.C.; other relatives; and friends.
Services were held Dec. 18 at 46th Street Baptist Church, 1261 S. 46th St. Viewing was at 9 a.m. Services followed at 11 a.m. Burial is in Fernwood Cemetery.
In Memory of Mrs. Lola M. Schiavoni
The family and friends of Lola M. Schiavoni, 89, a resident of Columbia Cottage, and formerly of Palmyra donated funds to Gemma's Angels. She passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015.
Born June 28, 1926, in Hershey, she was a daughter of the late Stephan and Julia (Imbrognio) Mastromatteo. Mrs. Schiavoni was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra, and the Areba Club in Hershey. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially trips to Atlantic City, N.J. The funds were used to purchase over 600 pounds of produce which was distributed to area food banks. Surviving are her daughter, Lorrie (Lou) Bushman of Hershey; sons, Francis Schiavoni, Steven Schiavoni, and Richard Schiavoni, all of Palmyra; sister, Josephine Hupp of York; brother, Michael Mastromatteo of Mechanicsburg and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
